About
I’m a technologist and semi-professional photographer - with an enduring, fifty-year, passion for photography in all its forms.
Driven by discovery
My photography focuses on landscape, travel, and the relationship between place and human presence. I emphasize clarity, structure, and intent over spectacle, drawing from documentary and classic American landscape traditions. Roads, byways, interiors, and transitional spaces are recurring subjects, treated as records of use, time, and continuity rather than nostalgia.
I work across digital and film, including medium and large format, selecting tools based on their suitability to the subject and the outcome I’m trying to achieve.
Over the past fifty years, I’ve traveled to and worked in more than 100 countries, using a wide range of photographic tools that span several generations of rapid technological change. Travel has shaped both my perspective and my practice. I’m motivated by discovery—learning about new places, cultures, and environments—and that same curiosity drives my approach to photography.
I have a strong interest in the technical side of the medium and aim to understand each tool in depth, from capture through processing.
My current tools include a Rolleiflex 2.8F, Fujifilm TX-1, and Mamiya 7II for film work; a Hasselblad X2D II and Sony A1 for editorial assignments; and, for personal projects, a full-spectrum Hasselblad X2D and a Leica Q3 Monochrom.
